There is an individual commitment to fundraise for each route. Fundraising must be completed by October 1, 2017. The individual standard fundraising commitments are as follows:
VeloSano is focused on raising as much money as possible for cancer research at Cleveland Clinic. Every participant is required to reach his or her individual fundraising commitment. To ensure this, your self-pledge (as little as $5) at the time of registration allows us to capture your credit card information. Your credit card will ONLY be charged to cover your remaining commitment if you do not meet your route’s minimum commitment by Sunday, October 1, 2017. If you meet your fundraising minimum before the deadline, your card will NOT be charged.
If you close your credit card account or your card on file expires, please contact VeloSano with your new card information at firstname.lastname@example.org or 216.444.6150.
Your Required Self-Pledge is a tax-deductible donation. If making a donation from outside the U.S., please check tax deductibility in your country.
At the start/finish locations, you can expect to find medical, mechanical and refreshment assistance. On-course support will consist of Rest Stops approximately every 12 to 15 miles. Each Rest Stop will offer medical, mechanical, restrooms and food/beverage. Additional support will come from SAG (Support-and-Gear) vehicles that can transport you or attend to minor mechanical or medical needs.
A Big Wheeler is a Rider who doubles their standard* fundraising commitment associated with the route selected ride (e.g., You are riding the 25-mile Fun Ride and you DOUBLE the minimum commitment of $1,000 and you raise $2,000 or more for cancer research). Virtual Riders can become a Big Wheeler by raising $1,000 or more.
*Youth/young adult/military participants must double the standard fundraising commitment for each designated route to become a Big Wheeler, not the discounted fundraising commitment.
No. No matter what your fundraising goal is, you are only responsible for raising the minimum fundraising commitment associated with your route. You can change/raise your fundraising goal at any point by logging into your Participant Center. You will automatically receive Big Wheeler benefits once you DOUBLE the standard* minimum fundraising commitment for your selected participation.
*Student/military participants must double the standard fundraising commitment for each designated route to become a Big Wheeler, not the discounted fundraising commitment.
